Supporting the Next Generation of Behavioral Health Clinicians
Wellness Studios is proud to partner with community behavioral health agencies across New Mexico to expand access to post-graduate clinical supervision for master’s-level behavioral health professionals.
This program provides funding to support clinical supervision for early-career clinicians working toward independent licensure, strengthening the behavioral health workforce and increasing access to care in communities across the state.
Through this program, eligible community agencies may receive financial support for providing qualified clinical supervision to staff working toward independent licensure.

Program Overview
Independent licensure in New Mexico requires behavioral health clinicians to complete two years of supervised work and a minimum of 90 hours of supervision by an approved supervisor.
Many agencies struggle to absorb the costs associated with clinical supervision. This grant helps address that challenge by providing funding to support supervision provided within community-based behavioral health organizations.
Program Goals
This initiative is designed to:
Increase the number of independently licensed behavioral health clinicians in New Mexico
Strengthen the behavioral health workforce in community settings
Support early-career clinicians working toward licensure
Reduce barriers for agencies providing high-quality clinical supervision
Improve access to behavioral health services in underserved communities
Who Is Eligible
Community-based behavioral health agencies in New Mexico may apply if they:
Employ Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) clinicians working toward independent licensure
Have access to a qualified, board-approved clinical supervisor
Are able to document supervision hours and submit required reports
Agree to program monitoring and reporting requirements
Provide services consistent with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care principles

Agencies may support multiple clinicians through this program.

Supervision Hours that are eligible to be paid by this grant must follow the NM State Regulations:
90 Total Clinical Supervision Hours within 3600 hour period
70 of the 90 hours must be direct supervision
No more than 20 can be Group Supervision
No more than 30 can be Interdisciplinary Supervision

Funding supports the administration and delivery of clinical supervision services for eligible clinicians.
Funding may support:
Clinical supervisor compensation
Administrative support for supervision tracking
Supervision program coordination
Program Process
Agencies participate in the program through three simple steps.
Step 1: Submit an Application
Agencies must first apply to participate in the Clinical Supervision Grant Program.
Step 2: Agency Onboarding
Once approved, agencies will complete onboarding to participate in the program.
Step 3: Report Clinical Supervision Hours
Agencies will provide supervision according to New Mexico licensing requirements.
